The YMCA Black Achievers program connects students (Teen Achievers) with positive adult role models (Adult Achievers). Program activities are designed to give 8th through 12th grade student’s exposure to career, educational and social opportunities. In six years, the program has produced over 450 Teen Achievers, recognized 30 Adult Achievers and awarded 10 scholarships totaling $15,000.

The Capital City Golf Association Collegiate Scholarship is designated for minorities high school seniors from Wake and/or Durham County High Schools. The applicants will be judged on the following criteria:
- Minimum GPA of 2.7.
- Planning to attend an accredited four-year college in the fall of the current year.
- Active member of a church family.
- Member of their high school’s golf team for at least one season.
- Submit a 200-300 word essay.
